Independent

Hakken belongs to no one but the people who make it. There is no publishing group behind it, no investor, no advertiser, no sponsor and no algorithm deciding what you see. Nobody pays for a place on these pages and nobody can buy one. What we link to, we link to because we think it is worth your time; what we write, we write in our own name and at our own expense.

Independence is the whole point. It is what lets a small magazine say that a famous thing is dull and an unknown thing is beautiful, and it is the only promise we can make you that does not depend on anyone else keeping it. If Hakken ever takes money from anyone, it will say so here, on this page, before it does.

The one exception is you. Readers may leave a voluntary tip on the support page; nothing is sold, nothing is promised in return, and the total received is disclosed there.

What Hakken shows

For every story Hakken displays a headline, a short excerpt of no more than 200 characters, a preview image and a link to the original article. Stories are collected from the publishers' own public RSS feeds and Open Graph metadata, the channels publishers provide precisely so that their work can be discovered and linked to. We never reproduce full articles, we do not remove credits, and every card and every page links back to the source.

Language. A story appears here in the language its publisher wrote it in. We do not translate headlines or excerpts, and we do not paraphrase them; what you read on a card is the publisher's own wording, shortened, with the link leading to the whole of it.

Copyright and ownership

All articles, images, logos and brand names remain the property of their respective publishers, studios, photographers and brands. Hakken claims no rights in any third-party material. Preview images are displayed as provided by the publisher's feed, in reduced size, as a reference to the linked article. Hakken is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of the publications it links to.

Rights holders: removal on request

If you are a publisher, author, photographer or rights holder and would prefer that Hakken not link to or preview your work, write to [email protected] with the URL(s) concerned. We remove the item within 48 hours, no questions asked, and on request we exclude the source from future collection entirely.

Privacy

Who is responsible. Hakken is an independent publication. Its publisher is responsible for the site and for any data described here, and is reachable at [email protected].

What we collect. If you subscribe to the letter, we store your e-mail address, the site and language you subscribed from, the date and time of your consent, whether you have confirmed the address, and a unique unsubscribe token, in Cloudflare Workers KV. That is the complete list of what we keep about you. To stop one caller from filling the list with other people's addresses, the form also counts sign-ups from each network address for one hour; the count is filed under a one-way hash of that address, never the address itself, and is deleted when the hour is up. Hakken sets no cookies of its own, has no accounts, no comments, no advertising and no tracking. Your language, theme and region preferences are kept only in your browser's local storage and never leave your device.

Why, and on what basis. To send you the letter you asked for, and for nothing else. The legal basis is your consent, given by the checkbox at sign-up (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)); you can withdraw it at any moment. We do not sell, rent or share addresses with anyone.

How long. Until you unsubscribe. The link in every letter deletes the record outright; it is not merely flagged.

Who processes it for us. Cloudflare, Inc. hosts these pages and stores the subscription records (Cloudflare Pages, Workers KV) under Cloudflare's Data Processing Addendum; Cloudflare may process data outside your country under Standard Contractual Clauses.

Players and videos. Some pages offer Spotify players or YouTube videos. The player itself is not loaded until you press “Load player” or the play button; from that moment the provider’s own privacy policy and cookies apply, not ours. A video’s still picture is a different thing: it is fetched from YouTube’s image server as the page loads, so YouTube sees your address before you press anything.

Fonts and images. Typefaces are served from this site; no font provider is contacted. Preview images are loaded straight from the original publisher's server, which will see that your browser requested them.

Visits. Visits are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies, keeps no identifiers and does not follow you across sites; it tells us how many people read a page, not who they are.

Readers outside the EU. If you are in mainland China, Vietnam, Korea or another place with cross-border data-transfer rules, your subscription data (address, language, consent time) is stored and processed outside your country, on Cloudflare's global network; by subscribing you consent to that transfer. The letter is editorial, carries no advertising, and can be stopped at any time from the link in every issue, at no cost.

Data sources. Figures and catalogues shown on this site (box-office estimates, model and repository listings) come from the named public sources and are shown with attribution as facts, not as their compilers' works.

Your rights. You can ask us at any time to show, correct or delete what we hold about you, or to unsubscribe, by writing to [email protected] or using the link in any letter. Residents of the EU, the UK, Japan and other places with a data-protection authority may also complain to it.

The editors

Hakken's section editors write under bylines. Their voice, taste and judgement are real; their names and biographies are editorial personas, not verified professional identities.

Terms

Hakken is provided as is, for information and inspiration, without warranty of any kind. Linked sites are outside our control and we are not responsible for their content. Trend signals, colours and radar figures are automated statistics over the stories we collect and should not be read as facts about the industry.

You are welcome to quote or link to Hakken's own editorial text and radar data with attribution. Third-party material remains under its owners' terms.

プライバシー　運営者：Hakkenは独立した出版物であり、その発行者がサイトと本書に記載するデータについて責任を負います（連絡先 [email protected]）。ニュースレターにご登録いただいた場合、メールアドレス、登録サイト、言語、同意日時、確認済みかどうか、配信停止用トークンのみをCloudflare Workers KVに保存します。また、他人のアドレスを大量に登録されるのを防ぐため、送信元のネットワークアドレスごとに登録回数を1時間だけ数えます。回数はアドレスそのものではなく一方向ハッシュで記録し、1時間後に削除します。当サイト独自のCookieは使用せず、アカウント、広告、トラッキングもありません。アクセス数はCookieも識別子も使わないCloudflare Web Analyticsで計測しています。言語・テーマ・地域の設定はお使いの端末のローカルストレージにのみ保存されます。保存したメールアドレスは配信目的以外に利用せず、第三者への販売・共有は行いません。配信停止はいつでも可能で、停止後は記録を削除します。SpotifyのプレーヤーやYouTube動画は「読み込む」ボタンを押すまで接続されず、読み込み後は各サービスのプライバシーポリシーが適用されます。中国本土、ベトナム、韓国など越境データ移転の規制がある地域にお住まいの場合、登録情報はお住まいの国外、Cloudflareのグローバルネットワーク上で保存・処理され、登録をもってこの移転に同意したものとみなされます。レターは編集コンテンツで広告を含まず、各号のリンクからいつでも無料で配信停止できます。見出しの日本語訳は機械翻訳です。開示・訂正・削除・配信停止のご希望は [email protected] までご連絡ください。
