Every Moment Is Designed

September 4, 2026John Snowleg

This morning it was the colour of a paper cup on a Tokyo counter. A green so exact it made the whole street feel decided. That is the thing about design: it is everywhere, it is quiet, and it works on us whether we notice or not. A single colour. One line. A texture, a pattern, a sound. Put them together and you have a mood, and mood is what makes a big world feel livable.

Hakken exists to collect that mood, carefully. The beautiful and the refined next to the vast and the magnificent, on one page. Every three hours we read the design press of the world and put it on a radar: what studios are talking about right now, which signals are rising, which colours are having their week.

What I want from this magazine is simple. The new currents in design, the new styles and ideas, the new colours, the events in branding worth knowing about, arriving here fast and light, easy to find and a pleasure to read.

I would love to hear what you think. And if Hakken earns a place among your bookmarks, that is the highest compliment I know. Thank you for reading.
