Frederic Church in Jamaica opens at Cooper Hewitt
Cooper Hewitt is showing Frederic Church's rarely exhibited sketches from his 1865 travels to Jamaica, more than 60 studies of the island's plants and landscapes. The museum holds over 2,000 of his oil studies and graphite sketches, the largest Church collection in the world. The exhibition marks the 200th anniversary of his birth and runs from 30 October to 15 February 2027.
